Participatory contemporary dance piece about finding a place
In POSTO, there is no designated space to sit; everyone finds their place wherever they want in the room. Three large balls invite the audience to join in, to run and dance, and sometimes to stand and watch together.
How do we do this together? How can we have fun together?
The balls will help us. As objects for playing, they invite people to move. Suddenly, a child will cross the room by running. Then it might be everyone running behind a ball, until we all sit in the center and look at planets floating above our heads.
POSTO wants to reflect, through a game—partly to do, partly to watch—on the subtle balance between freedom of interaction and awareness of the group. It is an invitation to participate in a performance, playing on the fine line of having agency and always leaving a bit of space for others.
A game about empathy and the sense of responsibility that develops when we play together.
“Gentle monsters maintain a delicate balance between trepidation and fascination.
